Essential: always on
These keep you signed in and the platform safe. The site cannot work without them, so they are not optional, and they are never used for advertising or tracking.
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
__Host-sslaw_session | Keeps you signed in. Not readable by page scripts. | Until you sign out or it expires |
__Host-sslaw_device | Recognises a device you have signed in from, so the sign-in can be renewed quietly and a stolen session is harder to use. | Up to 90 days |
__Host-sslaw_auth_attempt | Holds a sign-in that is half way through (for example, while you wait for the code). | A few minutes |
The site also keeps a few notes in your browser's own storage: your cookie choice, whether the side menu is open, notification sound settings, and, for articles you save, the list of saved articles and how many free articles you have read.
Analytics: only if you accept
If you press Accept, we use Google Analytics on our public pages (home, services, bare acts, Nyaylo, judgements, news, pricing, contact) to count visits and see which pages are read. Google sets cookies named _ga and _ga_ followed by an identifier, which last up to two years, and receives the page address, the page title and technical details of your browser, as with any website.
We never load it on signed-in pages, on your matters, documents, calendar or messages, or while you are signed in. If you press Essential only, none of this runs.
Your choice
Your answer is saved in this browser only, not on our servers, so you will be asked again on a different browser or device, or after clearing your browser's site data. You can change it at any time with the button above. Creating an account asks you to accept this policy together with the Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Policy.
